Please Help Bring Dog Back To TV!!

It's been a couple of weeks since we have seen Dog and the crew on TV due to A&E’s removal of the show from its line-up. Of course, if you are a fan of the show you are well aware of the situation at hand concerning the audio tape the National Enquirer allegedly bought from Dog's son Tucker.
Due to this tape of a private conversation between Dog and Tucker being made public A&E suspended production of the show’s fifth season and took the show off of the air for the "foreseeable future".
Many fans were upset and disheartened by this.
If you look on our forum, as well as any of the other numerous Dog sites, you will find information on how to voice your opinion and fight for the show to be returned.

We know many of you are new to our forum and there are tons of threads to go through to find information and it can be overwhelming. We also know that a lot of our members aren't able to get on daily or even weekly to check on how things are going.
Therefore, we want to give you the tools to show your support for the show if you so desire. How can you help? Numerous ways. By letter writing, sending emails, voting in polls and supporting a rally in person if possible. We have broken down the information for you so you can easily choose the way you feel best suits your situation.
We have over 3,000 members on this forum. If each of us voted in each poll once or wrote one letter or sent one email we would be showing a huge amount of support for Dog and crew.
WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!
Polls:
Polls are an easy way to show your support to the crew. Even if it seems like a simple idea it is an important one. If the media sees there is support for the show they might start writing with a more positive attitude towards Dog and A&E executives would take notice of this.

Look for "We want to keep Dog on tv, where do we vote?" and then vote.

Pineapple Campaign:

This idea was found at
http://dogsupporter.wordpress.com/
As Fans of Dog the Bounty Hunter and Duane "Dog" Chapman we feel that we have no choice but to fight for what we believe in and that’s for Dog.
We sprang into action the moment news of him being pulled indefinitely from A&E's television schedule hit the airways.
This in our opinion never should have happened. There is one thing that no onecounted on, the fans.
We are many and loyal to Dog no matter what. All we simply want is our Dog back on television where he belongs so his message of second chances can be heard. The idea of sending a pineapple to A&E came about because we knew that they may not listen to phone calls or emails.
The only thing that they would get noticed was physical action. By any means necessary is the only thing that we knew would bring Dog the Bounty Hunter back to television. The message of sending one item to a network has been used and succeeded in the past. The biggest example of this is the television show Jericho. A grassroots network arranged for peanuts to be sent to the network. They succeeded in sending twenty tons of peanuts to the network to make a statement. Jericho is still on television now because of this. We fans and boycotters feel that our love for Dog requires a huge statement as well. Pineapples being sent to A&E would make a statement we believe. They get enough! and they will get the point.
In our efforts to bring the show, we have talked to fans globally as well but this effort needs to go further than that. Everyone needs to take part in this. We are trying to get schools across the country involved with things like pineapple drives and letter drives to prove our point. The children want their hero back. Each child will attach a letter to a pineapple and send it to A&E. With Dog's growing number of fans we want to let the world know we will not back down. We want our Dog the Bounty Hunter back and we want him now.
Anyone interested in helping with our cause, please send your pineapples whether they are whole canned with the message of Bring Back our Dog to:

As you can see there are a number of different ways that you can help support Dog or your favorite crew member. One of Dog's favorite sayings is "Where mercy is shown, mercy is given." Let's show A&E and the sponsors that now is the time for mercy to be given to Dog.
Last, but certainly not least, let’s remember to pray for Duane Chapman and family.
Thanks.

A Beautiful Poem A Man Called Dog

A Man Called Dog

by nick sym

A Man Called Dog

There is a man, for whom I have gained respect,
for most he keeps the streets safe
Within a circle holding hands tightly,
his posse speaks the words of faith
Pictures on the wall of those who lost hope,
he prays for every one
Chasing those in the mysteries of the night,
or through the heat of the blazing sun
A family man so loving,
you can see it in his children's eyes
A sense of humour with Beth,
he can always get a rise
Meth, crack, ice, or H,
it's all garbage which leaves you in a fog
But be warned, one day, and I am certain,
you will have to face
The Dog

Case in Limbo Against Bounty Hunter

PUERTO VALLARTA, Mexico -- A Mexican judge has ruled to close the criminal case against bounty hunter and TV reality star Duane "Dog" Chapman, but state prosecutors have appealed the decision, officials said Thursday. In the July 27 ruling, Judge Jose Alberto Montes said the statute of limitations has expired on the case, said Guillermo Diaz, assistant prosecutor for the state of Jalisco, where Puerto Vallarta is located.

Chapman was arrested in September by U.S. authorities on a Mexican warrant stemming from his 2003 capture of fugitive convicted rapist and Max Factor cosmetics heir Andrew Luster in Puerto Vallarta.

Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico.State prosecutors, however, want to continue pursuing Mexico's request to have Chapman extradited, Diaz said.

The courts are expected to rule on prosecutors' appeal in coming months.Chapman stars in A&E's "Dog the Bounty Hunter," which is based in Hawaii. He expressed relief at Montes' decision.

"The weight has been lifted off my chest," he said. Duane Dog Chapman is Now FREE!!!

TMZ has learned that all Mexican charges may have been dropped against famed bounty hunter Duane "Dog" Chapman and two members of his team -- including his son. We're told these photos were taken moments after Dog learned his fate. Hallelujah!

The group had been charged by a Mexican court with deprivation of liberty, after their 2003 capture of convicted serial rapist Andrew Luster in Puerto Vallarta. Chapman had traveled to Mexico to retrieve the Max Factor cosmetics heir, who was wanted in the U.S. on rape charges. Luster is now in jail, serving a 124-year term. The Chapman crew was jailed for a brief time after the incident as bounty hunting is considered a crime in Mexico. While TMZ could not immediately confirm the ruling (because nosotros hablamos espanol only a little), Dog's attorney told us he "has received a favorable ruling from the people in Puerto Vallarta. The extent of that ruling is unknown as we are still in the process of translating it."Dog, through his publicist, told TMZ, "Viva La Mexico!"

Tancredo Standing For Dog

Tancredo:

U.S. should stand by famed bounty hunter By Chris Good March 28, 2007 Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.)

is questioning the legality of the ongoing extradition of bounty hunter and cable TV personality Duane “Dog” Chapman to Mexico.

The lawmaker Wednesday contacted Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice about the case.

“News reports have come to light showing that the extradition agreement between the U.S. and Mexico may be nothing more than a wink and a nod between governments,” said Tancredo, who is running for president.

“I hope that Secretary Rice looks into whether this agreement has the legal force before extraditing a man who put away a serial rapist.

”Mexican authorities arrested Chapman in June 2003 for capturing fugitive rape convict Andrew Luster in Puerto Vallarta. Bounty hunting is illegal in Mexico.Chapman made his $1,300 bail, left Mexico, and has been fighting extradition ever since.

The ex-con-turned-bounty hunter, who is featured in a TV show on A&E, was arrested again last September in Hawaii and charged with deprivation of liberty for the capture of Luster.

Tancredo based his inquiry on the congressional testimony of Alan J. Kreczko, deputy legal adviser to then-Secretary of State James Baker, who said the U.S. and Mexico had “exchanged letters” approving the extradition of bounty hunters for trans-border captures.

The lawmaker also cites a 1992 Supreme Court decision in which former Chief Justice William Rehnquist writes that the U.S.-Mexico extradition treaty “says nothing about the obligations of the United States and Mexico to refrain from forcible abductions of people from the territory of the other nation, or the consequences under the treaty if such an abduction occurs.

”Chapman has captured American TV audiences with his straightforward, blue-collar approach to capturing criminals, and has described himself as “the poster child for rehabilitation in America.”

Article Explains More on the Hearing on March 7th..

Duane Chapman had plenty of people in his corner yesterday,

GREGORY YAMAMOTO The Honolulu Advertiser

In a move that is likely to have little practical impact, a state legislative committee has taken on the government of Mexico over the effort to extradite bounty hunter and TV star Duane "Dog" Chapman.

After an almost two-hour public hearing yesterday, featuring an appearance by the reality TV star and his family, the House International Affairs Committee unanimously approved a resolution urging Mexican officials to drop extradition charges against Chapman. The resolution — if it passes the state Legislature — will probably have little to no bearing on the case in Mexico.

Still, the move will please the hundreds of people who delivered written and oral testimony supporting the local celebrity, who got in trouble with Mexican authorities after trying to apprehend fugitive Andrew Luster, a convicted rapist now serving a 124-year sentence in California thanks to Chapman's efforts.

However, the Luster case left Chapman, along with his son, Leland, and colleague, Timothy Chapman, with "deprivation of liberty" charges and they could be extradited to Mexico for trial.

A resolution from the Legislature is unlikely to prevent that, raising the question of whether lawmakers should be spending time on it.

"The state government doesn't really have any leverage over the Mexican government at all," said University of Hawai'i political science professor Neal Milner.

What the resolution does do is put the spotlight on Chapman and the lawmakers who support him.

"It's politics is what it is," Milner said. "It's a chance to shine at no cost."

Aside from the celebrity factor, it's not much different from many of the resolutions that the Legislature passes on a regular basis. Resolutions are not legally binding and are often used to bestow honor on individuals.

To a certain demographic, Chapman is a hero, noted John Hart, Hawaii Pacific University's assistant dean of communication.

"The Legislature is obviously responding to the folk hero nature of it and that he did something that's right and not grappling with the more complex issue that what he did wasn't legal," he said.

While the resolution will probably make no difference in the effectiveness of the legislative session, devoting time to it presents the opportunity for the public to ask what lawmakers are focusing on.

"Anything that gets us to ask that question is a good idea," Hart said.

A successful resolution would also give politicians an accomplishment to bring back to their constituents. " 'I did the Dog resolution,' is going to matter to people more than whether or not they got traffic lights or the school library," Hart said.

Dozens of those types of constituents packed yesterday's hearing room where only one person testified against the resolution.

"I think it makes a mockery of our laws," Brett Pruett told lawmakers. "The Mexican government has every right to extradite the fugitives. Where does Hawai'i step in?"

Pruett then asked the committee members if they wanted to put their stamp of approval on vigilante justice, eliciting "boos" from Chapman's wife, Beth, who stormed out of the hearing room.

Later, she called him a piece of garbage as he walked out the door.

Duane Chapman, on the other hand, shook Pruett's hand and said he had a right to his own opinion.

"It strengthens me when someone comes with an opposition because I have a chance to talk to him and make it a positive thing," Chapman said

HAWAII STATE LEGISLATURE CALLS EMERGENCY HEARING TO SUPPORT “DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER” TRIO AND FIGHT THEIR EXTRADITION

The nicknamed “Chapman Resolution” to be heard in the House of Representatives tomorrow, Wednesday, March 7th, at 9 a.m. This is a special concurrent resolution which will also include the Senate.

HONOLULU – A much-anticipated emergency hearing in the Hawaii House of Representatives supporting DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER trio Duane “Dog” Chapman, Timothy “Youngblood” Chapman, and Leland Chapman, regarding the extradition charges against them, is scheduled for tomorrow, as follows:

WHO: Duane “Dog” Chapman and the Chapman family will be in attendance.

WHAT: Hearing on House Concurrent Resolution 50, introduced by State Representative Gene Ward (Rep.-Hawaii Kai-Kalama Valley)

WHEN: Wednesday, March 7, 2007 • 9:00 a.m.

WHERE: Hawaii State Capitol, Room 329 (International Affairs Committee)

HOW: Supporters are welcome to join us at the hearing. Those unable to make it can still send testimony to (e-mail) PAR@capitol.hawaii.gov or (fax) 808-587-0793.

(NOTE: Please do not send testimony to Rep. Ward’s office, at it is past the deadline and must go directly to PAR.)

Last month, Rep. Ward introduced House Concurrent Resolution 50, requesting that the Hawaii State Legislature stand up and support the Chapmans, and ask the government and courts of Mexico to drop their extradition proceedings against them.

Duane “Dog” Chapman committed to personally appear before the International Affairs Committee which is hearing the measure.

Once Resolution 50 passes the committee, it will be referred to the House Judiciary Committee for a second hearing, and then is expected to move forward to passage.

Ward said he has been receiving testimony “from all over the world on this issue.” Ward added, “It is not something the people of Hawaii and the nation are taking lightly; the Dog needs to be free from a Mexican jail.”

Dog, his wife and partner Beth Chapman, Tim, Leland, and the rest of the Chapman ‘ohana will be in attendance at the hearing.

“We are humbled and extremely grateful to Rep. Ward and the entire Hawaii State Legislature for stepping forward with this resolution,” said Chapman. “It means so much because this is our home and we love Hawaii, so to have such an official show of support like this is overwhelming. God bless them for giving us hope during this challenging time, despite their already busy schedules. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!” Background Duane “Dog” Chapman, star of the top-rated A&E television show DOG THE BOUNTY HUNTER, was arrested on September 14, 2006, by U.S. marshals in Hawaii on charges of illegal detention in his June 18, 2003 capture in Mexico of cosmetics heir Andrew Luster.

Also arrested were Leland Chapman, Duane’s son, and Timothy Chapman, their associate.

The three spent one night in the Federal Detention Center in Honolulu, and were released after posting bail.

Since the arrest, hundreds of thousands of fans from across the country and around the world – including over 50 members of Congress – have been pleading with the U.S. and Mexican authorities for their freedom, holding them up as heroes for bringing serial rapist Luster to justice.

Luster is serving a 124-year prison sentence for his heinous crimes against the women he drugged, raped, and videotaped. Most recently, the Federal Court for the Second District in Guadalajara, Mexico, issued a ruling which was not in the Chapmans’ favor.

However, they have filed an appeal with the federal circuit court and continue to pray for justice and full exoneration.

They currently remain free.

The Very Latest News On Chapman Ruling....

HERE IS THE LATEST NEWS

FROM OUR LEGAL TEAM. IT’S A LITTLE COMPLICATED,

BUT HOPEFULLY WE’VE EXPLAINED

IT ENOUGH SO PEOPLE UNDERSTAND WHAT’S HAPPENING.

MAHALO,

MONA ..

Aloha!

William Bollard, attorney for the Chapmans, has received the official ruling form the Mexican court today.

A leak from a clerk in the Mexican courts and a premature Associated Press article quoting this person and a person claiming to be our attorney in Mexico late last Thursday (2/14/07),

have caused initial shock for the family, as well as additional grief over some of their misstatements.

Bollard has now been able to review the court documents to determine the reason for the denial of the Chapmans’ injunction request – which was NOT based on the merits of the case, but a technicality, and he can also now file an appeal. He also hopes to clarify any misstatements made earlier.

Please review the release, below, and contact him directly with any questions or interview requests.

CHAPMAN ATTORNEYS RECEIVE OFFICIAL RULING FROM MEXICAN COURT TODAY

An appeal will be filed with the federal circuit court next week. HONOLULU, HI - The Federal Court for the Second District in Guadalajara,

Mexico has issued a formal ruling in the constitutional challenge (known as an amparo) presented by attorneys for Duane "Dog the Bounty Hunter" Chapman, Leland Chapman and Timothy Chapman.

Contrary to prior unofficial reports of a ruling from the Second District, the court's action does not “clear the way for the Chapmans to be extradited to Mexico," explained the Chapmans’ lawyer, William C. Bollard.

"There have been several misstatements made to the press over the past several days," stated Bollard. "For example, we have never argued to the court that the Chapmans would not be guaranteed a fair trial in Mexico."

Also, since the story broke last Thursday (2/15/07), media sources around the world, citing an Associated Press article out of Guadalajara, have quoted someone named Jorge Huerta, who purportedly identified himself as the Chapmans' "Mexican lawyer."

"We have never heard of Jorge Huerta. He certainly does not represent the Chapmans, and his statements to the press were misguided and reflect little understanding of the circumstances of this case,"

Bollard added. The Associated Press has since released a statement to correct this information. The amparo presented to the federal court by Chapman's lawyers last October challenged the arrest warrant issued by a Puerto Vallarta judge against the Chapmans.

The warrant alleged they had unlawfully deprived the freedom of international fugitive and convicted serial rapist, Andrew Luster, who is now serving a 124 year sentence in California.

At the time the arrest warrant was issued, a second charge of conspiracy was dropped by the local judge in Puerto Vallarta.

The prosecution immediately filed an appeal to that ruling which is still pending. Bollard, who has now reviewed the recent ruling by the federal district judge, explains, "The judge for the Second District decided to not consider the merits of our constitutional challenge on the grounds of a technicality.

The Second District cited a Mexican law which holds that an amparo should not be considered while another appeal which could modify the underlying warrant is pending. The other appeal referred to by the federal court is the pending appeal brought by the prosecution in Puerto Vallarta. "But that law applies only to simultaneous appeals filed by the accused and not to our circumstances where the pending appeal was filed by the prosecution," stated Bollard.

Bollard commented that the federal court should have considered the merits of the amparo. "We intend to file an appeal with the federal circuit court next Tuesday," said Bollard.

Pending a ruling by the circuit court, the injunction previously issued staying all extradition activity will continue in effect.

“Nobody is going anywhere right now.

We continue to have complete confidence that a full consideration of the merits of our amparo will result in justice being done and our clients’ exoneration." Media may contact William Bollard via the following:

In 2003 Duane Chapman, AKA Dog the Bounty Hunter,Leland Chapman and Tim Chapman were arrested in Mexicofor the apprehension of Andrew Luster.

At their ownexpense, they did what the Federal Government couldnot or would not do. They had with them a Mexicanpolice officer (as demanded in Mexico).

After theapprehension of Luster all four men were arrested bythe Mexican police. While in Mexico Andrew Luster was living under anassumed name. Luster was not extradited to the UnitedStates.

He was cuffed and taken to the border where

US Authorities were waiting for him.

All done in arecord 36 hours. Andrew Luster was expelled from

Mexico because he did not have proper identificationand paperwork.

The seven days spent by the Chapmans in a Mexicanjail cell, along with the public shame and humiliation

of being arrested (then and now), the court costs andattorneys fees associated with this case and beingplaced under house arrest is certainly adequate forrehabilitation.

Any thing more the Chapmans shouldhave to endure related to this case constitutes thecruel and unusual punishment the Mexican Governmentclaims to abhor.

In 1990 the DEA hired Mexican bounty hunters, for$50,000 to abduct a Mexican citizen, Dr. HumbertoAlvarez-Machain, who was only suspected of a crime, tobring him to the United States where he could beofficially charged.

After a Judge determined there was not enough evidence to take Dr HumbertoAlvarez-Machain to trial, he returned to Mexico.

Hethen filed suit against the US Government and the Bounty Hunters.

These Mexican bounty hunters are currently living inthe United States as a members of the witness protection program. The judgment against JoseFransico Sosa, one of the bounty hunters, in theamount of $25,000 was over turned by the highercourts.

The United States Government fought tooth and nail to protect itself and the Mexican bounty hunters from the monetary damages that could have been imposed by theirdecision to do just what the Chapmans did .

They have gone out of their way to protect the lives of the Mexican bounty hunters they hired.

Why is this same United States Government not fighting tooth and nail to protect the Chapmans?

We the people of the United States of America DEMAND

that the United States Government immediately exercise some common sense by refusing this extradition request and release Duane Chapman, Leland Chapman and Tim Chapman from the threat of extradition.

We the people of the United States of America DEMAND that the Mexican Government immediately exercise some common sense

and drop all pending charges against the Champan's

and release them from the threat of extradition and/or prosecution
